Hey guys =) just wondering about side effects? it could just be a coincidence, but we put an amber teething necklace on my DS on tuesday last week, and during that week his dribbling got extrememly excessive, then by the friday he just slept all day and saturday he was so lethargic, not the active happy baby he normally is. He also got a rash on body. Sat night he developed a bad ulcer under his tounge , We have taken him to the dr, but the dr said he is healthy, not sick, its just an ulcer but unsure as to how he could have got it and unsure about the cause of the rash.
Could it be some kind of effect from the amber necklace?

Some children have a reaction to the succinic acid that the necklaces release. This can cause eczema or a rash that can sometimes clear up after 2-3 weeks of wearing the necklace. Most kids I know that have developed the rash have stopped wearing the necklaces as their mums would rather that the child not suffer =)
A teething necklace will not be the cause for the ulcer or the lethargy though.

I havent heard of kids having reactions with the necklaces, but i guess it could happen. From what I know of the neckalces they release oil? in small doses and thats what helps with the teething? My son has had one on from 14 weeks, and we didnt have any issues like you have had. His dribbling got a lot less.. no wet shirts anymore... and we havet had an issue with the pain of teething either..(well i think molars are trying to make an appearnace so will keep you posted!) If you think it is the necklace keep it off..or contact the people you got it off to see if it is authentic? Good luck

Both my DD and my nephew got eczema on their necks after wearing teething necklaces. I took DD to the doctor and tried every cream the doctor prescribed... It only cleared up when I took the necklace off. My sister in law discovered the same thing with my nephew.
